Published by Atheneum in 1961, shortly before Hyam Plutzik’s death, this three-part narrative poem is the poet’s own sequel to Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” in which Hamlet charges his friend Horatio to “report me and my cause aright.”

Horatio was one of the finalists considered for the Pulitzer Prize in 1962.
