Horatio

Horatio

Published by Atheneum in 1961, shortly before Hyam Plutzik’s death, this three-part narrative poem is the poet’s own sequel to Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” in which Hamlet charges his friend Horatio to “report me and my cause aright.”  Horatio was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry that year.
